Malaysia’s National Standards Body
About JSM
JSM/DSM stands for Jabatan Standard Malaysia / Department of Standards Malaysia – the national standards body of Malaysia.
It is the only official accreditation body (AB) in the country, appointed by the Government of Malaysia.
Main Responsibilities
of JSM
Accrediting Certification Bodies
Authorizes certification bodies that can issue ISO certificates.
Developing and Promoting National Standards
Establishes and implements national standards, such as the MS ISO series.
Supervising Certification Activities
Ensures all certification activities comply with international standards.

Why JSM is Important
JSM serves as Malaysia’s official ISO certification supervisory authority.
Any organization that wishes to issue internationally recognized certificates must be approved by JSM or another accreditation body recognized by IAF.
How International ISO Certification Work
Our certification process follows a globally recognized structure to ensure credibility and trust:
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) develops internationally accepted standards that define best practices across industries.
IAF oversees and coordinates national accreditation bodies, ensuring certifications are recognized and trusted worldwide.
In Malaysia, this role is fulfilled by JSM (Department of Standards Malaysia). They authorize certification bodies to issue valid and internationally recognized ISO certificates.
ICM International Management Sdn. Bhd. is an IAF-accredited certification body, authorized to provide professional qualifications such as ISO 17024 personnel certification.
